About FlossBros

A flossing habit that actually sticks.

FlossBros is a free habit app for people who already know they should floss, and keep meaning to start tomorrow.

Free on iPhone · Android beta · No ads

The job is simple: one tap a day, a streak you'll want to protect, and a friend, partner or roommate who can see it and nudge you. Floss Academy adds short, plain-language oral-care basics with sources. With Premium, you can export a self-reported flossing log as a PDF and bring it to your dentist.

Flossing takes about ninety seconds. The hard part was never the floss. It was remembering, and caring enough to do it again tomorrow.

Health claims

Why we built it

Dentists and hygienists bring up flossing at check-ups. Most people agree, then life happens. Generic habit trackers treat flossing like any other checkbox, and most dedicated flossing apps are built for one person on their own.

FlossBros is built around the two things we think make a tiny daily habit stick for real people: a streak worth protecting, and someone who notices when you skip. The research on habits is humbling, too. In the best-known study, a new daily behaviour took a median of 66 days to feel automatic, and the range was wide.

We're still early, and we're serious about shipping the boring parts that make consistency easier.

What it is

A habit tool: one-tap logging, streaks, badges, reminders, friends and Floss Academy, plus a PDF of your self-reported flossing log for your dentist (with Premium).

What it isn't

Dental advice, a diagnosis tool, or a product that claims flossing prevents heart disease, dementia or other conditions. Observational studies link gum disease with other health issues; they don't show that flossing prevents them, so we don't say it does.

What we do say

Both come from sources on our research page, where each source is listed with what was studied, what was found and a limitation.

If your gums bleed regularly, see a dentist.

Platforms

Core features (daily logging, streaks, up to 5 friends, badges, reminders and Floss Academy) are free, with no ads. Optional Premium and Family plans add extras such as streak freezes, a longer catch-up window, unlimited friends, the PDF log for your dentist and Premium for your whole household.

For dental practices

Practices can request free counter cards and mirror stickers with a QR code that points to our dentist page. The cards make no health claims. Patients who use the app can show their flossing history at the next visit instead of guessing.

Choosing a flossing app?

We compared FlossBros with the other flossing apps people find, and with general habit trackers. We say when another app is the better fit.
