FlossBros ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the FlossBros mobile application for iPhone ("the App").

Data We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account we collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• User ID (generated automatically)

Usage Data

As you use the App we collect:

• Floss logs (dates, times, symptom data such as bleeding and pain indicators)
• Streak and history data
• Achievement unlocks and experience points
• Social interactions (friend connections, nudges, high-fives)

Identifiers

• Device and app-instance identifiers (e.g. Firebase Installation ID)
• Push-notification token (FCM token)
• Home-screen widget push token (if you use the widget)

Diagnostics and Performance

• Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
• App performance data (via Firebase Performance Monitoring)

Purchase and Subscription Data

• Product purchased and subscription plan
• Entitlement status (active, expired, trial)
• We do not receive or store your payment card details; all billing is processed by the Apple App Store

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data to:

• Provide and maintain the FlossBros service
• Track your flossing habits and calculate streaks
• Enable social features (friends, nudges, leaderboards)
• Send push notifications (reminders, friend activity)
• Manage your subscription and premium entitlements
• Diagnose crashes and improve app performance
• Communicate with you about updates or support

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase Authentication — account creation and sign-in
• Cloud Firestore — database storage for user data
• Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and diagnostics
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications
• RevenueCat — subscription management and entitlement verification
• Apple App Store — billing and subscription processing

No Sale of Data & No Ad Tracking

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not display advertisements in the App and do not use ad-tracking frameworks.

Data Sharing

We may share your information only in these circumstances:

• With your friends: Your display name, current streak, longest streak, level, and last floss date are visible to friends you have connected with
• Service providers: The third-party services listed above receive only the data necessary to provide their respective functions
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. Your data is stored securely using Firebase services with encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account inside the App. When you request deletion:

• Your profile, floss logs, friend connections, achievements, and all associated data are permanently deleted
• Deletion is processed asynchronously and typically completes within 30 days
• Your Firebase Authentication account is also removed
• Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained

Active subscriptions are not automatically cancelled when you delete your account. You must cancel your subscription separately in your Apple ID subscription settings before deleting your account.

International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers (Google/Firebase, RevenueCat) operate data centers. These transfers are governed by the service providers' data-processing agreements and appropriate safeguards.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability
• Opt out of marketing communications

Children's Privacy

FlossBros is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
